SUMMARY:2025 AGA National Championships
DESCRIPTION:The AGA National Championships and AGM will be held over two days at the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club on the weekend of December 6th & 7th.  Due to space restrictions\, there is a limit of 50 players entering the tournament.  There is no restriction on members attending the AGM. \nRegistration will close when 50 adult players have registered and paid. \nNote: Junior players from beginner to 5 kyu have their own event on November 30th. Juniors with a recognised rank of 5 kyu or stronger may enter the main tournament. \nThe Tournament will decide the AGA National Open Champion\, the AGA Senior Champion (the best placed person aged 45 or older) and the AGA Junior Champion (the best placed person under 18). \nThe event is sponsored by the Sydney Go Club\, so the entry fee has been kept at $60.  The payment portal is https://2025nationals.square.site/.

DESCRIPTION:The Sydney Go Club will hold its first 13 x 13 tournament at the Ryde Eastwood Leagues Club\, located at 117 Ryedale Road\, West Ryde\, on Sunday\, 24th May 2026. \nAfter receiving many requests\, we are excited to host our first 13×13 tournament. The use of a smaller board will lead to faster-paced games with a focus on fighting\, bringing to mind the phrase “a knife fight in a telephone box”. This event is intended as a fun experience for all players and will challenge your ability to adapt. While some 19×19 theories may be applicable\, you’ll discover that many familiar full board joseki are less effective in this format. \nWe estimate that each game will last about 50 minutes\, and the timetable has been set with this in mind.
