DESCRIPTION:This year the World University Go Championship will be held at The University of Sydney\, Australia from July 7th to July 13th 2019. In addition\, the semi-finals of the 16th Chang Qi Cup\, China’s preeminent tournament for Professional Go Champions will take place on July 10th and 11th. \nSydney University was founded in 1854 and its impressive sandstone main teaching building evokes images of those used in the Harry Potter movies. The World University Go Championship and the semi-final of the Chang Qi cup will be held in the Great hall\, which will bring a different Go game experience to college players and professional players. \nThe current World University Go Championship is co-sponsored by the World University Go Association\, the Shanghai Yingchang\, Period Go Education Foundation\, the Australian Go Association\, and The University of Sydney Go Club. Since its founding in Hong Kong\, China in July 2014\, the World University Go Championship has been successfully held for 5 consecutive years\, first at the Chinese University of Hong Kong\, then at Hsinchu Tsinghua University\, University of Toronto\, Bangkok Zhengda School of Management\, and Cambridge University\, UK. \nThis year there are more than 100 contestants from 76 universities including new entrants from the St. Petersburg State University\, the University of Melbourne\, the University of Montreal\, the Technical University of Berlin\, the Chinese University of Hong Kong\, and the National University of Singapore. \nThe 6th World University Go Championship will still be divided into Group A (5 dan or above)\, Group B (1-4 dan)\, Group C ( 1-5 kyu)\, Group D ( below 5 kyu) and Group E (female).

SUMMARY:Fifth Brisbane Spring Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The 2018 Brisbane Spring Tournament will be held on Saturday 1st September at Ace Comics and Games\, Shop 18\, Annerley Arcade\, 478 Ipswich Road\, Annerley\, Queensland. \nThere will be an  Open division for Dan players and a handicap tournament for kyu players.  Both divisions will have five rounds.  Please arrive by 9am to ensure your registration and the first round starts at 9:30a. The entry fees is $25 if you register with Allan before August 26 and $30 on the day ($20/$25 concession)\, payable at the registration desk\, including lunch and refreshments. \nAGA members may earn representative points by playing\, all players of any strength welcome.  We expect the tournament to end around 4:30pm.

DESCRIPTION:The South Australia Championships will be hosted by the Adelaide Go Club and will be held at Living Choice Fullarton Retirement Village\, 123 Fisher St\, Fullarton\, South Australia. This is adjacent to a nice coffee shop and restaurant\, so BYO lunch and refreshments. \nThere will be two divisions – \nOpen division (1d to 7d)\, 60 minutes main time + 30 seconds byoyomi\, five rounds over two days.\nHandicap division (25k to 1k)\, 30 minutes main time +30 seconds byoyomi\, five rounds on the first day.Japanese rules and counting\, 6.5 points komi. \nEntry fee\, timetable and other details to be advised.

DESCRIPTION:The Sydney Go/Baduk/Weiqi Festival will be held at Sydney Olympic Park on Saturday 14th July.  The main feature is the China Cities match between Sydney and Shanghai. \nIf you are using public transport\, please take Homebush line to Olympic Park Station. DESCRIPTION:Management\nThe tournament is being hosted by the Victorian Go Club. The Tournament Director is Billy Sun. \nDivisions\nThere will be 2 divisions as follows: \n1st division – Open competition\, no handicap; 5dan and above \n2nd division – Handicap competition\, beginner up to and including 5dan. \nMaximum handicap will be 9 stones. The tournament director may alter the division cut-off’s as required\, according to entries received. \nFood\nLight lunch (both days)\, tea\, coffee\, water will be provided. \nPrizes\nThere will be trophy for top 3 players of all the 2 divisions & cash prize for division 1 & 2. \n1st Division – 1st $500; 2nd $300; 3rd $200; 4th $100; 5th $50 \n2nd Division – 1st $350; 2nd $200; 3rd $150; 4th $100; 5th $50 \nThere will also be a prize for ‘encouragement’ and ‘fighting spirit’ for both division. \nEntry Fee\nThe entry fee will be adults $60 (including AGA 2017 member Fee)\, students $30. \nRules & Conditions\n• Games will be played according to Chinese rules.
