DESCRIPTION:The tournament will take place on 28th September 2024. Registration for the event closes at 5:00pm 27th September 2024 \nThere will be three divisions each with a maximum of 32 players. \n\nOpen Division – for 5 dan and above – even games\nDan handicap division – for 1 kyu and above – handicap games\nKyu handicap division – for kyu players – handicap games\n\nThe Tournament Director is Gareth White\, the tournament referee is An Younggil 8P \nAll participants and visitors to the tournament must comply with the Ryde-Eastwood By-laws (https://www.releagues.com.au/227) some of the key points are: \n\nEverybody must be a member of the club or register on entry using a driving licence or identity card.\nPersons under 18 must be accompanied by an adult who is responsible for the child’s behaviour\nPersons under 18 are not allowed into the gaming machine areas nor are they allowed to attempt to purchase of consume alcoholic drinks.\nPeople are not allowed to bring food or drink into the club.\nThe club accepts no responsibility for personal effects including mobile phones.

DESCRIPTION:The 1004 Islands Shin-An International Senior Baduk Championship is an international seniors’ event organised by the KBA and has been held since 2019. DESCRIPTION:Join us for the annual Hahn Memorial Tournament\, a tribute to the enduring legacy of Hahn Sang Dae\, a pillar of the Australian Go community for over half a century. \nThe organizing committee of the Hahn Memorial Tournament extends heartfelt gratitude to the Ku Ring Gai Council for their support of multi-cultural events and their sponsorship of this event. Special thanks are also due to Hahn Sang Dae’s wife\, Hwa\, for her efforts in preserving and continuing her late husband’s work. \nThe event is held at Gordon Library 2\, 799 Pacific Highway\, Gordon. Registration closes at 5:00pm\, Saturday 16th March and if you have not registered you cannot play. \nDoors open at 9:00am with the first round starting at 9:30am prompt.  There are four divisions\, Open\, Dan handicap\, kyu handicap and juniors. The entry fee is $30 with a concession rate of $20 for school children. SUMMARY:2023 Korean Ambassador's Cup
DESCRIPTION:The Korean Ambassador’s Cup will be held at the Ryde-Eastwood Leagues club on 1st October.  Thanks to the efforts of Mr Yang Jaeho (9p) the Korean Ambassador to Australia will deliver the opening address.  Mr Yang\, Secretary General of the Korean Baduk Association\, will also be at the event and will be available to review games from the Open division. \nThe Open division is for strong dan players with no handicaps. This division is recommended for 5 dan players and above and is limited to 16 players\nThe dan handicap division is recommended for players 1 kyu to 5 dan.\nThe kyu handicap division is recommended for all kyu players.\nJunior player division is for people under 16. \nThe Open division will have four rounds with players having 20 minutes each plus 3 x 30secs byo-yomi. The Dan and kyu handicap tournaments will have 5 rounds with players having 20 minutes plus 3 x 20 secs byo-yomi.  The junior player division will have 6 rounds with 15 minutes plus 3 x 20 seconds byo-yomi. \nThe entry fee is $30 with a concession rate of $20.  The top three players in each division will receive a trophy\, while the top three juniors will receive a medal and certificate. The dan handicap division is recommended for players 1 kyu to 5 dan.  The kyu handicap division is recommended for all kyu players.  Please note: the maximum handicap is 9 stones. \nThere is a cash prize pool of $2\,000 and the results from the tournament will be used to select the Australian representative at the 2023 Korean Prime Minister’s Cup in Korea. \nEntries for the tournament close at 5:00pm Saturday 14th August.  With limited places it is important to register and pay as soon as possible. No additional registrations will be accepted for a division once all 16 spots have been taken.

DESCRIPTION:The second annual PacifiGo Perennial on the 28th of May\, 2022 \nThis is an annual tournament we run in partnership with the Queensland Go Society\, in which we cover all the costs of the tournament (entry\, medals\, venue rent) in order to have a tournament that anyone can participate in without worrying about cost! \nIt’s a one-day tournament\, so you don’t need to dedicate an entire weekend (I’m looking at you\, Open division players who take time to think).

SUMMARY:Australian Open & Digital Tournament
DESCRIPTION:The Australian Go Association cannot hold a face to face National Championship this year.  So the 6th Australian Digital Championship and the 43rd Australian Open will be a combined tournament. This is a temporary measure and all expectations are that we will revert to the customary tournament form next year. \nThe tournament is on the Internet in seven rounds\, one per week. Results are due by midnight each Sunday by email. The draw for the next round (opponent\, colour\, handicap) will be sent out by midday Monday. Each competitor is to contact their opponent\, sort out a time\, play the game online\, email the result and the game record to the tournament director. The tournament is an Australian Swiss draw in three divisions\, open (2k to 7d)\, upper handicap (2d to 10k\, up to nine stones)\, and lower handicap (10k to 30k\, up to nine stones) using Australian (Japanese) rules. \n\nEntries close at the end of Sunday 17 October\, 2021.\nRound 1 will be played Monday 18 October to Sunday 24 October.\nRound 2 will be played Monday 25 October to Sunday 31 October.\nRound 3 will be played Monday 1 November to Sunday 7 November.\nRound 4 will be played Monday 8 November to Sunday 14 November.\nRound 5 will be played Monday 15 November to Sunday 21 November.\nRound 6 will be played Monday 22 November to Sunday 28 November.\nRound 7 will be played Monday 29 November to Sunday 5 December.\nResults will be announced Monday 6 December\, 2021.\n\nAll competitors are bound by the IGF\, AGA and QGS codes of conduct\, which boils down to: don’t cheat\, don’t troll\, play nice. DESCRIPTION:This year the World University Go Championship will be held at The University of Sydney\, Australia from July 7th to July 13th 2019. In addition\, the semi-finals of the 16th Chang Qi Cup\, China’s preeminent tournament for Professional Go Champions will take place on July 10th and 11th. \nSydney University was founded in 1854 and its impressive sandstone main teaching building evokes images of those used in the Harry Potter movies. The World University Go Championship and the semi-final of the Chang Qi cup will be held in the Great hall\, which will bring a different Go game experience to college players and professional players. \nThe current World University Go Championship is co-sponsored by the World University Go Association\, the Shanghai Yingchang\, Period Go Education Foundation\, the Australian Go Association\, and The University of Sydney Go Club. Since its founding in Hong Kong\, China in July 2014\, the World University Go Championship has been successfully held for 5 consecutive years\, first at the Chinese University of Hong Kong\, then at Hsinchu Tsinghua University\, University of Toronto\, Bangkok Zhengda School of Management\, and Cambridge University\, UK. \nThis year there are more than 100 contestants from 76 universities including new entrants from the St. Petersburg State University\, the University of Melbourne\, the University of Montreal\, the Technical University of Berlin\, the Chinese University of Hong Kong\, and the National University of Singapore. \nThe 6th World University Go Championship will still be divided into Group A (5 dan or above)\, Group B (1-4 dan)\, Group C ( 1-5 kyu)\, Group D ( below 5 kyu) and Group E (female).
