Victorian Open Tournament

Management

The tournament is being hosted by the Victorian Go Club. The Tournament Director is Billy Sun.

Divisions

There will be 2 divisions as follows:

1st division – Open competition, no handicap; 5dan and above

2nd division – Handicap competition, beginner up to and including 5dan.

Maximum handicap will be 9 stones. The tournament director may alter the division cut-off’s as required, according to entries received.

Food

Light lunch (both days), tea, coffee, water will be provided.

Prizes

There will be trophy for top 3 players of all the 2 divisions & cash prize for division 1 & 2.

1st Division – 1st $500; 2nd $300; 3rd $200; 4th $100; 5th $50

2nd Division – 1st $350; 2nd $200; 3rd $150; 4th $100; 5th $50

There will also be a prize for ‘encouragement’ and ‘fighting spirit’ for both division.

Entry Fee

The entry fee will be adults $60 (including AGA 2017 member Fee), students $30.

Rules & Conditions

• Games will be played according to Chinese rules. Please score games according to Chinese counting.
• 60 minutes main time with 30 sec byoyomi to each player.
• Komi of 7.5 will be given against black for even games only.
• A Swiss draw system will be used.
• Winner will be determined as highest score then highest sum of opponent’s score (SOS) then highest number of defeated opponents scores.(SODOS)
